General
As a manufacturer of different coupling systems has KWD Kupplungswerk Dresden extensive know how in the development of high-performance products. Use is made in addition to the wealth of experience on knowledge of industrial research, which is generated as part of the Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik (FVA) and elaborated. Research projects with universities enable the development of new product fields and help to improve the performance the current products.
Tools of product development
For the design development process in addition to well-trained and highly motivated employees are powerful calculation programs for the design of drive components available that often allow "customized", load-optimized design of drive components. This allows for special applications circuit-, weight- and space-optimized coupling solutions are developed.
For simulation, the frequency and time domain (for example, natural frequency analysis, start-up procedures, etc.) is the simulation environment SimulationX available. This extensive analysis of the dynamic response of drives can be investigated.
The design of gear couplings takes place with its own software, which has been validated by FE analysis and extensive bench tests. This is constantly being expanded and improved, and also insights from our own and joint industrial research apply.
The design of multi-plate clutches takes place next KWD own calculation programs with programs of the FVA. The constructions are thus developed to the current state of technology and research.
Test Stands
KWD Kupplungswerk Dresden has various test cells to run both static and dynamic tests can be performed. Furthermore KWD has bracing test bench for dynamic studies, a special test rig for friction coefficient tests and test stands for determining the fatigue strength of coupling systems.
